    What each Samsung appliance error code means, the usual cause, and the fix. Always unplug the appliance before inspecting parts.

    SE / 5ESamsung SE / 5E β€” Drain Error

    The washer is unable to drain water within the expected time. Common symptoms: Water remains in drum; Cycle won't complete; Washer stops with water inside.

    Cause: - Clogged drain filter - Kinked drain hose - Drain pump failure - Blocked drain pipe

    Fix: 1. Clean the drain filter (usually at the front bottom) 2. Straighten the drain hose 3. Check for obstructions in drain hose 4. Test drain pump

    UE / UBSamsung UE / UB β€” Unbalanced Load

    The washer has detected an unbalanced load during the spin cycle. Common symptoms: Washer stops mid-cycle; Excessive vibration; Loud banging noises.

    Cause: - Overloaded drum - Uneven load distribution - Washer not level - Shock absorbers worn

    Fix: 1. Redistribute clothes evenly 2. Remove some items if overloaded 3. Level the washer using adjustable feet 4. Check shock absorbers for wear

    Samsung Refrigerator error codes

    21EFreezer fan error

    The freezer evaporator fan is not working (also 21C).

    Cause: Ice blocking the fan, failed fan motor.

    Fix: Manually defrost. Replace the fan motor if the code returns.

    22EFridge fan error

    The refrigerator compartment fan is not working (also 22C).

    Cause: Ice on the evaporator, failed fan motor.

    Fix: Defrost the fridge for 24–48 hours. If it returns, replace the fan or defrost components.

    Samsung Washer error codes

    3EMotor error

    The motor is not turning as expected (3E1–3E4).

    Cause: Overloading, loose motor wiring, failed motor or Hall sensor.

    Fix: Reduce the load and restart. If it persists, a technician should test the motor and wiring.

    4CWater supply error

    The washer is not getting enough water within the expected time.

    Cause: Closed taps, kinked inlet hose, clogged inlet screens, low water pressure.

    Fix: Open both taps fully, straighten hoses, clean the mesh screens where hoses connect to the washer, then restart.

    5CDrain error

    Water is not draining within the expected time (also shown as 5E or SE).

    Cause: Clogged drain pump filter, kinked drain hose, frozen drain line.

    Fix: Clean the debris filter behind the bottom-front panel, check the drain hose for kinks, and run Drain/Spin.

    DCDoor/lid open error

    The door or lid is not detected as closed (also dE/dS).

    Cause: Clothing caught in the door, broken lock or latch, faulty door switch.

    Fix: Close the door firmly, check for obstructions, and replace the door lock if the code persists.

    HEHeater error

    The water heater is not working (HE1–HE3).

    Cause: Faulty heating element or temperature sensor.

    Fix: Run a cold cycle to confirm. Have the heater and thermistor tested.

    LEWater leak detected

    The washer detected water leaking from the tub or hoses (also LC).

    Cause: Excess suds, loose hoses, damaged drain hose or tub seal.

    Fix: Use HE detergent only, check hose connections, and inspect underneath for leaks before restarting.

    OEOverflow error

    Too much water in the drum (also OF/0F).

    Cause: Excess suds, faulty water level sensor, stuck inlet valve.

    Fix: Drain the washer, reduce detergent, and check the water level sensor and inlet valve.

    UEUnbalanced load

    The drum cannot balance the load for spin (also Ub/UB).

    Cause: A single heavy item, mixed heavy and light items, unlevel washer.

    Fix: Redistribute the load, add items to balance bulky ones, and level the washer feet.
