What each Maytag appliance error code means, the usual cause, and the fix. Always unplug the appliance before inspecting parts.

Maytag dryer error codes

Power was interrupted during a cycle.

Cause: Brief outage or loose plug.

Fix: Press Start to resume. If frequent, check the outlet and breaker.

Washer took over 8 minutes to drain.

Cause: Clogged drain pump filter or kinked hose.

Fix: Clean the pump filter, straighten the drain hose, check it is not pushed more than 20 cm into the standpipe.

Lid could not lock.

Cause: Obstruction, faulty lid lock or wiring.

Fix: Clear the latch area, cycle power for 1 minute; replace the lid lock if it repeats.

Water did not reach level in time.

Cause: Low water pressure, closed tap or clogged inlet screens.

Fix: Open both taps fully, clean the inlet hose screens, check hoses for kinks.
